12 year old Driving 4wd On Fraser Island

Local police will be out in force on Fraser over the Australia Day holiday and weekend.

A major reason for this is last Thursday Police pulled over a 4WD on Eastern Beach on Fraser Island to find a 12-year-old boy in the driver’s seat.

Learning to drive a 4wd is a great step for any person but to do it as such a young age on such a busy beach is very careless additionally, the man in the passenger seat was breath-tested and recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.113%, over twice the legal limit.

The Canberra man was charged with drink driving, permitting an unlicensed driver and carrying an unrestrained passenger under 16 years.
